New Apple A16 Chip to Be Exclusive to iPhone Pro Models

The closer we get to the September launch event of the new-generation iPhone, the more information reaches the web, and this time, it’s the turn of super-reliable Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo to share something quite important.

The next iPhone series will obviously come with a new Apple A16 chip, but according to Kuo, it will only be used on the Pro models.

This means the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max will indeed be equipped with an A16 processor, whereas the standard (non-Pro) models will use the A15 chip that’s installed on the current models (possibly with some additional optimizations).

Kuo says this will also generate some changes in shipment proportion, with the manufacturers of certain iPhone Pro components obviously to benefit from this new strategy.
