It’s been a while since we last heard of a phone that caught fire, but just when it looked like this is a concern that we can all leave behind, here’s an iPhone X that allegedly exploded just like a grenade.
Twitter user Rocky Mohamadali revealed on Twitter that his iPhone X got hot all of a sudden and then exploded during the update to iOS 12.1. He also posted photos, also embedded below, to show what the iPhone X looks like after the incident.
As you can see for yourselves, if there was indeed an explosion, it was probably quite a blast, as there’s a huge hole in the back cover, along with major damage to the screen.
Indeed, it looks like the battery was the culprit of the overheating, though a further inspection is necessary to determine what exactly happened and what caused the blast.
