The iPad continues to be an essential product in Apple’s device portfolio, so the company is working on all kinds of upgrades that could see the daylight sooner rather than later.
However, according to a recent report, the Cupertino-based tech giant is also preparing a massive overhaul that would only go live in 2024.
It’s a screen upgrade, as Apple apparently wants the iPad to transition to OLED beginning with the 2024 generation.
The report reveals that Samsung could be the company to supply the OLED screens for the iPad, though there’s a chance Apple might also explore similar collaborations with other companies. No decision has been made just yet, and this makes perfect sense given the OLED iPad is still far away at this point.
As it turns out, Apple’s plan is to equip the iPad with a two-stack screen design, which should theoretically make the display as a whole more durable.
