Foxconn, which is the largest iPhone manufacturer, has started hiring new workers in anticipation of the new Apple smartphones launching in September, according to a new report.
The company is offering substantial bonuses up to $295 to employees who renew their contracts, Digitimes writes citing an Economic Daily News report. The hiring of new staff at the plants in Zhengzhou, China would continue until November 2018 when production should reach the maximum output, helping the company align manufacturing with demand.
By the looks of things, Foxconn wants to make sure that the production process would reach the desired capacity faster, technically avoiding making the same mistake twice after last year’s fiasco. The iPhone X was pushed back for one month due to production challenges, with Apple making only a few units available at first as a result of constrained supply.
