Apple No Longer Signs iOS 16.1.2

Apple has recently released iOS 16.2, so the company can now do what it usually does after a new update goes live and block the downgrade to the previous version.

That’s right, iOS 16.1.2 is no longer signed, which means that installing this particular version isn’t possible anymore. In other words, if you update to iOS 16.2, this is the version that you should use, as going back to 16.1.2 is no longer allowed.

On the other hand, Apple no longer signing iOS 16.1.2 doesn’t mean you’re stuck on the latest version of the operating system. Nope, or at least, not yet.

This is because Apple continues to support iOS 15, as the company still releases updates for this iOS version, especially as many iPhones, including iPhone 6s and iPhone 7, are stuck with it. At this point, the most recent build is iOS 15.7.2, so if you want to downgrade, this is pretty much the only option.
