While Apple hasn’t said a single thing about this potential issue, it appears to impact a significant number of devices judging from how many people posted in this Apple discussions thread. The topic has already received 324 votes for the “I have this question too” option, and several users confirmed in their posts that their iPhone 8 Plus experiences the same behavior.
Basically, the bug causes the screen to freeze on the iPhone 8 Plus at random times, with only some features of iOS still working. This means it’s unlikely to be a hardware issue, as the display isn’t dead, and it all returns to normal after a full reboot.
