Apple is gearing up for some pretty big changes on the iPhone as far as the design goes, as the company is getting ready to kill off the notch, or better said, the notch as we know it.
People familiar with the matter have said on several occasions that Apple wants to give up on the notch and introduce a punch-hole screen on the iPhone 14, and a leaked schematic that’s now making the headlines appears to suggest this is indeed the direction the company wants to use.
More specifically, the schematic shows a pill-shaped cutout in the screen which essentially replaces the notch completely. In theory, this should substantially improve the available screen estate, as Apple uses the pill-shaped component to integrate all front-facing parts, including the Face ID module.
The selfie camera will have its own round cutout right next to it.
