New 4-Inch iPhone to Launch with A10 Chip, No Headphone Jack

Apple is expected to take the wraps off the second-generation iPhone SE at WWDC the latest, but according to a new report, the unveiling might take place as soon as May.

Japanese site Macotakara writes that a case maker source indicated a new-generation 4-inch iPhone could debut in the coming weeks with some welcome upgrades, but also with changes that’d bring it in line with the other models currently available.

First and foremost, Apple will upgrade the CPU from the A9 to A10. The original iPhone SE comes with an A9 chip that’s also being used on the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, so with the second generation, Apple aligns the 4-inch iPhone with the iPhone 7, which uses the A10 processor.
