Leaked Memo Reveals Apple Is Cracking Down on Leaks, 12 People Got Arrested

A leaked Apple memo obtained by Bloomberg on Friday reveals the fact that the Cupertino, California-based company warns its employees to stop leaking information to the press or else.

The leaked memo, attached below for your reading pleasure, details Apple’s efforts to stop the leak of intellectual property by its employees and contractors. The company notes the fact that only last year it got 12 people arrested for leaking internal information from a total of 29 leakers caught with the help of Global Security.

The biggest leak suffered by Apple in 2017 was over the GM (Gold Master) build of its iOS 11 mobile operating system for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices, which was leaked by an employee to various bloggers and journalists. This contained important details about the unreleased iPhone X smartphone and HomePod smart speaker.
