This year’s iPhone generation will include three different models, including a larger iPhone X that most people have until now referred to as iPhone X Plus.
And while the name makes sense given Apple’s past releases, it looks like the Cupertino-based tech firm wants to give up on the Plus moniker entirely.
As a result, it’s now being rumored that the bigger iPhone X launching this year may actually land as iPhone Xs Max, according to a report from 9to5mac.
Technically, Apple’s new 2018 iPhone X could be called iPhone Xs, a strategy that aligns with the previous approach that the company used for upgrades to original iPhone models.
However, introducing an iPhone Xs Max instead of an iPhone Xs Plus is definitely surprising, especially because the Plus nickname itself has already become particularly popular in the company’s customer base.
