iPhone 7 to Feature 3GB of RAM, Plus Model to Launch with Dual Camera

Existing leaks have shown that the iPhone 7 is very likely to be similar in design with the current 6s generation, but it turns out that Apple is aiming for a much bigger overhaul under the hood.

And KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo now believes that one of these upgrades that Apple is working on concerns the amount of RAM memory that’ll be offered on the iPhone 7.

Apple launched the iPhone 6s last September with a major RAM upgrade, doubling the memory previously available on the standard iPhone 6 from 1GB to 2GB. And according to the analyst, the same trend will be maintained with the iPhone 7, which is expected to debut with 3GB of RAM.

This is definitely a welcome improvement for the iPhone, not only because more memory is needed to cope with today’s more demanding tasks, but also because most high-end devices running Android are already offering 4GB of RAM. Apple needs to keep close to its competitors, and increasing the amount of RAM on the iPhone 7 is one way to do that…. (read more)
