iPhone 7 pre-orders have kicked off on Friday and are currently underway at the time of publishing this article, but with Apple refusing to provide us with statistics for the first-weekend sales, it’s hard to tell whether the new model is more successful than its predecessors or not.
T-Mobile Chief Executive John Legere claims that at least for his company, the iPhone 7 is generating impressive demand and pre-orders have already recorded a new high this year.
iPhone 7 pre-orders are four times bigger than those of the iPhone 6, Legere said on Periscope, even though the model launched in 2014 was considered one the most successful iPhones in history – according to Apple, first-weekend sales topped 10 million in the case of the iPhone 6 and only the 6s managed to overtake this achievement with 13 million units the next year.
