iPhone 13 Pro Concept Imagines Both Good Upgrades and Bad Upgrades – Video

The upcoming iPhone generation due in September is likely to come with a series of major upgrades, and a new concept previews both the good and the bad changes that we could finally get on the new models.

First and foremost, it’s the portless iPhone. I’m going to file this under the bad upgrade section, simply because an iPhone without a Lightning connector means the end of wired CarPlay.

Most likely, whoever wants to use an iPhone with CarPlay and their head units do not support a wireless connection would pretty much refuse the upgrade to such a model, sticking instead with a traditional approach that still sports the Lightning port.

People familiar with the matter recently said Apple wouldn’t just go all-in on the portless iPhone, which means that the demise of the Lightning connector wouldn’t have overnight for all models.
