Here’s When the iPhone 14 Always-On Display Turns Off Automatically

Apple’s new iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max come with an Always-On Display feature, and while critics claim the Cupertino-based tech giant is only copying its Android rivals, users are more than happy to get their hands on such functionality.

However, as a new feature in the Apple world, AOD comes with a behavior that many might have a hard time decrypting, including a series of scenarios when it automatically turns off.

For example, Apple explains in a tech support document that AOD will be disabled when the Low power Mode is on or when the iPhone is lying face down. Furthermore, it’s also turned off when the smartphone is connected to CarPlay.

Here are all scenarios when the display turns completely dark:
