Happy 11th Birthday, iPhone!

Eleven years ago on this day, Steve Jobs announced the iPhone, a smartphone device that would change the world as we knew it.

On January 9, 2007, Steve Jobs announced the iPhone at the Macworld convention. The device was highly acclaimed and led to innovate the products after that. It received a lot of attention from the media, and Jobs said the first iPhones are coming to the public later that year.

On June 29, 2007, the first iPhone was released to the public, dubbed iPhone 2G. After that, it becomes a tradition for Apple to release a new or upgrade model every year, starting with the iPhone 3G on  July 11, 2008, and continuing with iPhone 3GS in 2009, iPhone 4 in 2010, iPhone 4S in 2011, and iPhone 5 in 2012.

In 2013, Apple announced, for the first time, two iPhone models, the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, a tradition that was kept in the years to come. As such, in 2014, Apple released iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and in 2015 they announced the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6… (read more)
