Cheaper iPhone Launching Next Year with Metal Body, Several New Colors
Apple is expected to launch three different iPhone models next year, all of which would be based on the design of the iPhone X, hence feature a notch at the top of the screen.
But while the notch will be there, not the same display would be used across the entire lineup, with people close to the matter saying that Apple is pondering using an LCD screen as a cost-saving measure.
Basically, Apple is expected to unveil three different iPhones, as it follows: one with a 5.8-inch OLED display that would be very similar to the iPhone X, a Plus-sized version of this model (also with an OLED screen) that could go as high as 6.5 inches, and a more affordable model with an LCD display.
Nikkei says this cheaper iPhone could come with a screen of 6.2 or 6.3 inches, while top-rated Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says a 6.1-inch display is more likely.
