Apple’s New iOS 10 Marks the End of the Super Popular iPhone 4

Apple announced iOS 10 at WWDC 2016 a few hours ago and released the first developer preview builds shortly after that, while also planning to roll out a public beta sometime next month.

iOS 10 does come with a huge number of improvements, but it also makes a change that’s very likely to impact many users who are holding back the upgrade to a newer version of the iPhone.

iOS 10 will no longer work on the iPhone 4 and 4s, so in order to install it, you need at least an iPhone 5 or a newer device. What’s more, the chances are that some features or the overall performance won’t be the best on an iPhone 5, but at least the update will be offered OTA and in iTunes on this old model.

But as far as the iPhone 4 is concerned, this change pretty much marks the end of the device’s lifetime, as it’s been around since mid-2010.
