Apple is working on what appears to be a hardware subscription system that would allow users to pay a monthly fee for access to certain devices like the iPhone and possibly other products.
A report from Bloomberg reveals that the plans for this project are yet to be finalized, however, Apple wants to make it easier for customers out there to get a new iPhone without paying the full price upfront.
As compared to the iPhone Upgrade Program, which more or less allows customers to do this already, the new hardware subscription system would use a specific monthly fee, just like it’s the case of pretty much any other subscription service out there.
Furthermore, Apple could use the system for more products than just the iPhone, possibly to expand it to devices like the Apple Watch and iPad.
