Apple Officially Pulls the Plug on Downgrades from iOS 14.7.1

As per Apple’s typical approach, the company has stopped signing another iOS version, once again blocking users from downgrading from the latest version of the operating system.

This time, it’s iOS 14.7 the one that’s no longer signed, which means that once you install a newer version of the OS, you can no longer go back.

iOS 14.7.1 was released to users last week, while iOS 14.7 received the go-ahead on July 19.

iOS 15 coming in September

Needless to say, while most people are already on iOS 14, all eyes are currently on the next big update that Apple is currently working on for iPhones out there.

It’s iOS 15, the new operating system that the company previewed at WWDC earlier this summer and which is projected to get the go-ahead for production devices in September.

iOS 15 is currently in beta, so public testers and developers can give it a try ahead of the full launch this fall.
