Apple iMac Pro with Custom Xeon Chip Benchmarks Reveal Insane Performance

Apple will launch the new iMac Pro lineup in December this year, but some of the new models have already been spotted on Geekbench, which basically lets us have a glimpse into their hardware capabilities ahead of the official debut.

There are three listings currently on Geekbench, all of them flagged as model AAPJ1371 and running macOS. Two of the entries were created on August 22, while the third one is dated October 12.

The most recent one is a 10-core Intel Xeon W-2150B running at 3,000 MHz, and just like MacRumors spotted, they appear to be downclocked on purpose, and the Geekbench founder John Poole speculates it’s because the devices require lower thermal design power and lower frequencies because of the form factor.
