Apple Gets Ready to Migrate to .Apple gTLD

According to an application submitted under ICANN’s new gTLD program on January 31st 2015, Apple should take control of the .apple gTLD in the near future to help it better promote its products and services on the Internet.

gTLD is short for Generic Top Level Domain, and it is a domain name extension with three or more characters. ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) is the organization that manages the Internet’s DNS, IP addresses, and ASNs.
