Apple Blocks iPhone X Activation as More Demo Units Show Up in Hands-on Videos

Apple’s new iPhone X won’t ship to customers until November 3, but since the device has already arrived in stores across the world in anticipation of the public launch, more units make the rounds showing demo units in hands-on presentations.

While it’s pretty clear that Apple doesn’t want these to be making the headlines, especially ahead of tech reviews that are expected this week, the company can’t do much about them, as every takedown notice for the said videos are followed by twice more re-uploads on various sharing platforms.

But what Apple can do right now is block iPhone X activation, and this is what the company has reportedly turned to with devices that were shipped to Italy.

It’s not known if Apple blocks activation only on demo units, but this is very likely to be the case, as reviewers need their devices to run with full capabilities.
